Smashing Baubles!

Well the presents are purchased, the tree is up, the decorations done and the cards posted, and all day Sunday was spent melting chocolate bars to create our own mix-up versions for teacher!

So I think apart from a few last minute odds and ends, then Christmas is sorted.

Last week before the school hols, so a bit of child-free work time to finish some design jobs before the big wind down.

So all that is really left to do this week is wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a great New Year.

I am going to b-log off for a couple of weeks now, and resume again in 2015.

But in the meantime . . . .  Grab a coffee, and take up my christmas challenge,
never mind candy crush get some festive fun smashing baubles. . . . . .

7 steps for a great advent…ure

So December is upon us. . . and while 8 year old son has now shut up hassling me about opening his lego advent calendar . . . .

. . . . . 5 year old son is still trying to get a grasp of time, and relentlessly asking if Christmas is tomorrow.

Hopefully once we get into the swing of the advent chocolates, (and I spend 10 minutes explaining it to him) he will get the idea.

His counting is excellent, so should be fairly easy for him to “get it”, and since he is now at school and learning to read, then I am bombarded with information about which words start with which letter, and frequent games of I spy.

He already visited Santa, at our Fradley Village christmas fayre last Saturday, (and told him what he would like) so fingers crossed ebay can come up with the goods, or I will be having a repeat of last years christmas morning.

(You may remember the complaints I had before the day had barely started, from last years blog).

But there are 24 days to go and plenty of things to do, and who knows how the time will unfold and what excitement there is in store before then.

7 little give aways

Signs that its beginning to feel a bit like Christmas . . . .

The boys are starting to talk and ask, and get upset about how long they have to wait.

We were lying in bed on Sunday morning and youngest son came in and asked how long till Christmas?
Dad “about 6 weeks”
me, ” I would say longer than that surely”

Well on checking the calendar, it turns out its actually 5 weeks and 2 days! Continue reading

Stress, stretch and sweep!

OMG – I am so busy, I think I might have overstretched myself. . . .

so little time so much to do – personal stuff, its my wedding anniversary so having a day out with hubby – but that means less time to work!

Couple of trade shows booked  to attend. . . . so hopefully make some new contacts, but that means less time to work!

Saying yes, when asked to be on committees, and getting involved with my village, so that takes up time which guess what – means less time to work!

Service where it matters

This week I had a delivery from my favourite online printer who I use for 90% of my work.
Normally their print quality is exceptional.

Particularly when you factor the price in, and that although they have offices in the UK, the main printing plant is in Germany, and the print prices they charge, include delivery to the UK . . .

. . . . and even allowing for a markup on their prices to cover my artwork and arrangement fee, they still are cheaper (on most print runs) than printers local to me. Continue reading

Jumpstarting the Spaces in Time

It’s nice to be able to say, that since moving to Fradley, a little over two years ago, and doing some serious business focussing, that my work and clients have steadily increased.

I have met some new people locally, and via referrals, and from my website, and from some publicity flyers promoting the FREE website Offer, as well as some contacts from the FSB.

Its always nice when you get the next random enquiry, telephone call or email, with a new and exciting project to embark on. Continue reading

To coin a phrase . . . what time do you make it?

Well currently as I type it is 15.04 on Monday afternoon (and I have 10 minutes before I need to get the boys from school). . .

. . A bit early to start a Tuesday morning blog, but times are a changing, as I will explain.

I talked about time management a couple of weeks ago – and that particular subject is going really well. My office is at the south facing front of the house and therefore easy to spot the sun when it makes an appearance.
