While the completion of the project, in this weeks blog, is indeed a cause for celebration,
it also made me think of this . . .
so dig to the depths of your childhood and see if you remember it too . . . .
Do you ever feel a bit down, low, frustrated, anxious – well of course you do, sometimes. . .
But does it ever get really bad, and not go away and you feel that you need a shoulder to cry on
. . . or better still . . .
. . . someone to listen while you just pour it all out.
Do you know
“There is probably not one single person who would not benefit from counselling.”
Which is the expert opinion of my most recent client Ms B from Ark Counselling Services. . .
which is something else to celebrate . . . .
because it means that you don’t have to be at rock bottom before she can lift your spirits,
improve your outlook and generally help you to feel a lot better about yourself.
You and your worries, can go 2 x 2, into Ms B’s Ark and find a safe place out of the rain,
just like all the animals did. – Hurrah!
Ms B chose the Ark imagery for exactly this reason.
And this week, Ms B herself can celebrate because the Wild Ideas and DBN team have completed
her project, and the Ark counselling services brand new website has gone live. – Hurrah!
Like more and more of our clients, Ms B had already got a website of sorts,
however, the person who did it, was obviously not a skilled designer . . .
. . . .as it was really rather terrible. . . in both design and functionality . . .
. . . and when you discover what she paid, you can change that to despicable!
But fortunately for her, when we met at the Lichfield Rugby club breakfast networking,
we got chatting and seemed to get on really well. . . .
(she spoke to another webmaster too, and was given similar advice,
which re-enforced the need for her to look at improving her marketing)
. . . which meant that she respected the advice I offered on her logo and literature,
and she arranged to meet with me for a design briefing on how Wild Ideas
could improve her branding and website.
Ms B, readily admitted she was not too knowledgable on internet technology,
and would need lots of advice from Dennis, but heck why should she be . .
she is a top notch counsellor, I can’t do her job either!
She already had a nice Ark and water illustration that she was using as a logo,
but it just needed a bit of work to make it a more self contained aesthetic design . . .
. . . and then create it as a vector file format, to be more versatile for all situations.
Ms B ideally wanted to re-do her business cards and leaflets too, but her initial budget would not stretch, so she decided to concentrate on the website for now, and use up her existing literature first.
Wild Ideas offer a monthly interest free payment option,
so Ms B is able to have her website and logo and pay for it during the coming months.
By providing me with some thoughts on what counselling was, in laymans terms, I put this information together from a “client” perspective to help write the wording to use on the website.
Upon my advice Ms B was also able to take advantage of an offer at my preferred image library, while I did the extensive searches to find images that would really connect with her potential clients.
Bearing in mind that potential “counselling” clients may be feeling vulnerable, confused, wary, unsure, and even embarrassed, the wording is intended to be open and friendly . . .
. . . lots of testimonials, and snippets from existing clients, and comforting words from Ms B together with her photograph, to instill confidence and reassurance.
The site structure is designed to be clear, and welcoming but to really connect with the reader and lead them through the information gently before inviting them to contact Ms B through her contact form.
There is also opportunity on every page to connect via the form or by email or telephone, with her details clearly displayed.
So have a look, and pass it on to anyone you know who might feel a bit elephant or kangaroo-like and could benefit from going into the Ark.
If I say so myself I am especially pleased with this site . . . .
. . . . and my webmaster partners at DBN web design have done an excellent job with the responsive version too – which is another thing to celebrate – Hurrah!
