ooh . . .13 Reasons for a happy breath!

Today’s blog is a bit late. . . . although I imagine you never really noticed. . . . I seem to have a few things that have had to be prioritised . . .

BUT
Just for a change, even though it did all get a bit stressful for a while. . . things are coming together nicely . . .

I can now relax and look forward to Christmas.

1. (. . . . ooh keep calm and take a happy breath!)

It’s that time of year when you have to try and fit Christmas into your normal schedule. . . and I have had so many things to do of late.

Last Friday, I had to forego the Lichfield Rugby Club breakfast meeting  . . . . . .

My husband was accompanying me to the DBN / Wild Ideas Christmas meal in the evening . . . .
. . . which meant he needed to leave work on time
. . . which meant that he had to BE at work on time
. . . which meant that he could not take our boys to school while I went to a breakfast meeting.

Shame really as the guest speaker was going to hypnotise everyone!. . . .and I quite fancied that.

. . .however I did go a WiRE (women in rural enterprise) meeting during the morning at Lichfield holiday Inn . . . at their christmas stall meeting . . . .

2. ( . . . . ooh new friends – happy breath!)

. . . . and meet a fantastic group of business women . . . . and purchase a new ensemble from the very lovely Julie Deaves at Joie de Vivre.

3. ( . . . . ooh new clothes – happy breath!)

. . . .And . . . yes theres more . . . get news of a “graphic design” seat vacancy at another networking group . . . .

4. (. . . . ooh potential business opportunities – happy breath!)

. . . and  . . . go immediately afterwards to ladies lunchtime networking group – (with the equally lovely Lorraine from Lorna Swift properties.

. . . where I met more fantastic business women . . . had a very nice lunch and ate cake provided by Nicola Rogers of Amazing Foods!

5. (. . . . ooh nice food, made by someone else – happy breath!)

. . . . turns out that the hypnotherapy at the rugby club was pretty good too . . . according to the lady I sat next to at lunch . . . .small world.

The DBN christmas meal was very nice too . . . thanks to Bina Nathwani from DBN for organising it . . . at the very nice slice of india in Derby . . .

. . . I have never rally been all that keen on Indian food. . . but the eat as much as you like . . .help yourself buffet style is brilliant for trying lots of new stuff. . . .

.. . . with plenty of “safe” pizza and salad . . . and puddings too . . . .

6. (. . . . ooh more nice food made by someone else – happy breath!).

. . . and I must thank my mother and father-in-law for having the children for a sleepover . . so that me and hubby could have a very rare treat out by ourselves . . .

7. (. . . . ooh child free evening – happy breath!)

Saturday went pretty well too . . . . an 8km run first thing – in the rain – meant that I was ready for anything . . . .

8. (. . . . ooh exercise and fresh air – happy breath!)

. . . and a successful visit to the Christmas market in Lichfield and at Erasmus Darwin house, meant that the Christmas shopping is now completed . . .

{Did you know that Erasmus Darwin of  Lichfield, original pioneer of evolution, was Charles Darwin’s Grandfather?}

9. (. . . . ooh christmas shopping finished – happy breath!)

. . . . Sunday brought on a good tidy up in our spare lounge (Snug) at home with the old TV relocated on the wall – in preparation for something that Santa has been asked to bring . . .

(fingers crossed if we can stay on the good list!) . . .

10. (. . . . ooh tidy house with new spaces – happy breath!)

So now the only thing left to do was the dreaded numbers . . . .

. . . . . checking over those receipts and totting up if we could actually afford all those extra Christmas spending we had been doing.

. . . . normally I cringe and squirm when I look at what we have spent. . . . . and have to do a lot of money juggling or raiding the savings accounts . . . . in preparation for the CC bill.

. . . however . . . . I have been doing my sums today . . .  hence the late blog post . . . and it would appear that things are going OK this year . . .

11. (. . . . ooh no nasty unaffordable spending surprises – happy breath!)

I did have my usual number issues though . . . mis-typing numbers and then getting frustrated when things don’t add up . . .

. . . always struggled a bit. . .and never been the best at maths – have to really concentrate.
It turns out there is a name for this . . . discaculia

My niece has just been diagnosed with it. . . . .there’s a name for everything nowadays!

12. (. . . . ooh I’m not number stupid I “might” just have discalculia – happy breath!)

If you are prone to getting your numbers in a muddle then this test may be useful

and I am sure if you look around you . . . there will be lots of reasons for happy breath in your life too.

13. (. . . . ooh blog written – happy breath!)
