I hope you all had (and maybe still having) a Happy Easter.
I wanted to say APPy Easter to you all by sharing an Easter gift in the form of this Free business app creator that I discovered recently.
With so many people owning and regularly using a smartphone now then as well as having a mobile friendly responsive website for your business . . . . .
. . . you might want to look at getting your own business app?
But in the true tradition of apps for free at the app store and google play then before upgrading to a paid version . . . .
. . . . why not trial your own free business app version first . . . . . Continue reading
Do you have a need for speed . . . . like going fast? . . . . in a car? . . . . on a roller coaster . . . . a bike . . a skateboard?
. . . . . when you are designing a logo for a client . . . . . and you can’t get your idea down quickly enough . . . . . because the graphic design speed in your head is racing in front of the production speed of your computer . . . .
. . . . OK, maybe just me on that one then!
But one simple solution this week has allowed me to triple my graphic design speed. . . .
I recently had the pleasure of doing some work for the very positive and inspiring Monica Douglas-Clark. . . .
. . . a fully ordained interfaith minister, and self proclaimed Rebel Reverend . . . .but also creative director at her husbands family business Jones and Clark in Burton-on-Trent.
It was in this business that I was able to provide my graphic design and artworking services, for a flexible logo design adaptation and a catalogue cover design and artwork.
I met Monica at a the February monthly networking meeting of the Burton Business Club, which is held in one of the meeting rooms at the very nice venue of Branston Golf Club.
Monica, in her Rebel rev capacity was also the speaker at the March meeting where she inspired us all to transform our businesses by transforming ourselves with her GROWING YOU presentation.
Burton Business Club always delivers an enjoyable evening . . . . Continue reading
As a woman it’s kind of nice to think that there is an international women’s day to recognise how special we women are, however . . . . .
. . . . considering the fact that this just leaves men as our opposite . . . . it’s also kind of a shame that there was any necessity to create an international women’s day at all.
International women’s day has been around for 107 years. . . . as a way to highlight the plight of women . . . and focus campaigns to improve the quality of life and equality of women in society.
The fact that women are STILL not equal across a male dominated society it shameful.
. . . . that they have to have an international women’s day to try and promote their achievements / expose their plights and fight for their right (to party)
If men were not so sexist and had not looked down on “the little woman” as being insignificant . . . . or incompetent . . .
. . . . as a creature they could mis-treat . . . ignore . . . patronise . . .(add your own male prejudiced experience here).
. . . . Maybe there would be no need for an international women’s day. . . . but then . . .
the obvious thought popped into my head . . . Continue reading
People buy from people . . . .we kind of all know it . . . . and I was reminded of it again this week . . .
. . . In fact it was positively enforced in a Dragons Den special “Pitches to Riches” this week by the very famous Levi Roots of Reggae Reggae sauce fame.
Entrepreneurs Ben and Sue are just starting out on their journey with Peter Jones and their Yogiyo sauce . . . .
but the thing that really struck me was Levis advice to Ben and Sue . . . in order to sell their product they have to sell themselves. . . 55 minutes in he says:
“People won’t be buying the product, although it’s got to be a fantastic product, but in order to sell it you’ve got to sell yourselves. So you’ve got to be on point. So it’s not about the product – it is about you”
So why are we all so scared of showing ourselves – putting our faces out there. . . . Continue reading
