For a small business . . . advertising and promoting yourself is a bit of a challenge . . . there are plenty of people out there contacting you with advice on what you should be doing. . .
. . . but if you want to sell yourself well then your business has to look great . . . and if you want to guarantee a professional result then you need to know how to choose a graphic designer who you can trust. . .
And again – I need to apologise for not blogging last week . . . .
. . . I have been feeling lousy with a kidney infection for the past 10 days and and not able to do anything at all . . . . .
. . . . luckily I had just completed a big project and was in between jobs so it has not had a drastic impact on my workload and I haven’t had to upset any of you lovely customers.
but now I am over the worst and although not 100% at least able to start doing a little bit I can see the light at the end of the tunnel . . . . .
. . . .
and that in itself is enough for a bit of party celebration – reason number 1 . . . . .
Yesterday my youngest son turned 7 . . . . .
And with his big brother just going into year 6 – that’s a lot of parenting years. . . . and trusting in positive thinking has definitely been beneficial.
This morning my kids went back to school . . . . I am trying to go back to work . . . . getting focused today is not as easy as I hoped it would be. . . .
Even writing this blog is a bit of a struggle today. . . . but it’s been a fortnight and I wanted to touch base with you and let you know I am still alive . . . .
I hope you had a great time . . . Christmas Rules in our house . . . and this year was no exception.
I just had a quick read of my first blog for 2015, and I am pleased to say that this Christmas has been as successful than the last one. . . .
. . .
the childhood appreciation stakes have definitely remained strong, maybe as they get older my boys understand how much things cost. . . .
Today’s blog is a bit late. . . . although I imagine you never really noticed. . . . I seem to have a few things that have had to be prioritised . . .
Just for a change, even though it did all get a bit stressful for a while. . . things are coming together nicely . . .
I can now relax and look forward to Christmas.
1. (. . . . ooh keep calm and take a happy breath!)

It’s that time of year when you have to try and fit Christmas into your normal schedule. . . and I have had so many things to do of late.
Last Friday, I had to forego the Lichfield Rugby Club breakfast meeting . . . . . .
As a parent, the responsibility of making that judgement call when deciding what is “right” for your kids is huge.
I can still look back and remember as a child asking my own parents . . . “can I have? . . . . . can I go? . . . . . Can I do? . . . .
The answer is not always obvious . . . .
Do you remember that yearning for a time when you can make all the decisions yourself, without having to ask someone else if its OK . . .
And once that time comes, you realise that you still kind of like to ask someone else if they think its OK . . . as the truth is you are not always all that sure . . .
. . . there is not always a magic answer. The only thing that is certain . . . there are lots of opinions . . . and many different ways to approach things.
This week I read a Facebook post from a fiend of mine broaching the subject of pocket money for your kids . . .
1. To do or not to do? . . .
2. How much? . . .
3. What for? . . .
4. How do you keep track? . . .
What is tomorrow? . . . Wednesday? . . . yes . . . October 21st. . . yes . . . 2015. . . .
Oh but its so much more than that. . . because exactly 30 years ago tomorrow a young man called Marty McFly travelled 30 years in order to sort out the terrible mess his kids were making with their lives.
Tomorrow is “Back to the future day” . . . I pricked my ears up when I first heard that because the back to he future series are my favourite films of all time. . .
. . . and in my opinion. . . The back to the future series are still one of the best series of films ever! – even my husband likes watching them and he’s not really a sci-fi fan. . . . and my boys enjoy them too.
Seems plenty of people agree with me too . . as this text from
June 2008 the American Film Institute’s special AFI’s 10 Top 10 designated the film as the 10th-best film in the science fiction genre. Continue reading
So, new month, new plans, new start.
Apparently the 1st September is the metereological start of the Autumn too
(and judging by the temperatures of late and the weather, then they are not wrong either).
Sara Cox (on radio 2 this morning) was talking about resolutions, and indeed we are on the brink of a new year. . . . .
Wow, I just had a really great holiday
I was panicking beforehand that I had too much work to do, but I informed all my current clients, got stressed and organised all at the same time and then off we went. . . .
. . . on Good Friday we
sailed away with P&O ferries, for one of the most relaxing breaks I have had (yes really).
My sister recently relocated to Germany . . . . “Oh, thats quite a way then” – I hear you say
well actually, considering that prior to that she had lived in South Korea for five years then this new location meant that is was now feasible and affordable to visit her.
Respond, answer, say something in reply, react, retort.
1. Are you good at it?
2. Do you even bother?
3. Does it depend who is asking and what they say?
Q. How bad do you feel when others DO NOT respond to you?
Last week my eldest son turned 9.**
Apparently, according to his teacher (from yesterdays parents evening) he listens well in class!
I pretty much know that he listens to me, but he chooses* to hardly ever respond!
A. Well its often irritating, it can be annoying and, sometimes frustrating, particularly when you have asked a question.
